Last year, TCS Ambulance continued its growth strategy by taking over the Rescue Service Sense in the canton of Fribourg. A new base was also launched in the city of Bern. Nearly five years since the founding of TCS Ambulance in Geneva, the subsidiary of the Touring Club Suisse has grown to become the largest national, terrestrial organisation in emergency rescue and patient transport, operating in nine cantons - Aargau, Basel-Landschaft, Bern, Lucerne, Zug, Zurich, Vaud, Geneva, and Fribourg.
'Combining corporate acquisitions with gaining new partners alongside our existing companies is the foundation of our sustainable growth,' comments Philippe Klaus, CEO of TCS Ambulance, on the development.
Around 45,000 missions were conducted in 2025 with 57 ambulances. These included slightly more than 15,000 emergency transports via the 144 emergency call number, as well as 28,000 patient transports, which usually involve scheduled transfers of stable patients to facilities like rehabilitation centres or nursing homes with low risk of health deterioration. TCS Ambulance employs 400 staff members. The organisation also educates emergency medical technicians and transport paramedics in accordance with the standards of the Interassociation for Rescue Services (IVR).
Regarding repatriations after medical emergencies abroad, TCS Ambulance carried out about 1,200 missions. These involved either receiving patients at the airport for hospital transport or conducting direct repatriations from abroad, such as from France or Italy, by ambulance. These missions are conducted for various clients, including Rega. Another portion of TCS Ambulance's missions involves providing medical services at events.

Founded in Geneva in 1896, the Touring Club Suisse has been serving the Swiss population. It is committed to safety, sustainability, and self-determination in personal mobility, both politically and socially. With over 2,000 employees and 23 regional sections, the largest mobility club in Switzerland offers its over 1.6 million members a wide range of services related to mobility, health, and leisure activities.
Every 70 seconds, assistance is provided. Each year, 200 patrollers carry out about 361,000 missions on Swiss roads, enabling immediate onward travel in over 80% of cases. The ETI centre organises around 63,000 assistance operations annually, including 3,500 medical assessments and over 1,300 repatriations. TCS Ambulance is the largest private provider for rescue services and patient transport in Switzerland with 400 employees, 22 logistics bases, and roughly 45,000 missions per year. The legal protection offices handle 52,000 cases and provide approximately 10,000 legal consultations.
Since 1908, TCS has been advocating for greater safety in mobility – made possible through membership. It develops educational materials, awareness and prevention campaigns, tests mobility infrastructures, and advises authorities. Each year, TCS distributes about 115,000 reflective straps and 90,000 reflective vests to children to ensure their mobility is safe. The driving centres count 42,000 participants per year in education and training across all vehicle categories.
With 32 campsites and around 900,000 overnight stays, the TCS is also the largest camping provider in Switzerland. The TCS Mobility Academy researches and shapes transformations in transport, like the vertical mobility of drones or shared mobility, for example with the 400 electric cargo bikes ‘carvelo’ for 43,000 users. TCS is a co-signer of the Roadmap for Electromobility 2025.
