Based in the canton of Zug, TREECYCLE AG pursues a clear mission: to combine reforestation, climate protection, and economic success. Through the TREECYCLE project, the company revitalises depleted land in Paraguay by planting fast-growing trees that can reach 5-7 metres per year. These transform CO2 into oxygen, supply wood to the global market, and simultaneously help protect existing rainforests.
TREE with Sustainable Security
To finance the initiative, TREECYCLE has developed the TREE security. The profit participation bond, approved with a new securities prospectus, meets the highest standards of transparency and compliance. TREECYCLE is one of the first companies worldwide to develop a blockchain-based Real World Asset backed by timber – a tangible asset that has proven reliable for wealth preservation and retirement planning over centuries. TREE thereby marries the stability of traditional capital markets with the potential of the blockchain economy. Investors receive a sustainable investment with regulatory security - a rarity in a market dominated by unregulated offerings. Even tech giants like Microsoft and Apple are investing in forests through reforestation projects or timber investments.
Biological Compound Interest
The TreeCycle of Life is based on an ongoing harvest and reinvestment cycle: part of the profits are distributed regularly, while a portion flows into new reforestations, creating a 'biological compound interest' that generates both growing returns and increasing ecological impact. Ten percent of the profits go into the restoration of the rainforest. Various projects by the management team have successfully reforested over 4,000 hectares, including the world's largest natural logo with more than 105,000 planted hardwood trees. This living 3D artwork can be seen on Google Earth and was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records in November 2023.
Impact You Can Touch
The TREECYCLE project sets itself apart from abstract financial products through direct experience: investors can visit the reforestation areas in Paraguay, observe the fastest-growing hardwood trees in the world, and learn about the local social projects. 'With the TreeCycle of Life, we make sustainability tangible: every investment plants trees, protects the rainforest, and simultaneously creates financial value,' says Jörg Schäfer, founder and CEO of Global TREE Project AG and its subsidiary TREECYCLE AG.
