04.03.2026, The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW is participating in this year's Sustainability Week Switzerland with a dedicated Sustainability Week. Held at the campuses in Brugg-Windisch, Muttenz, Basel, Olten, and Solothurn from 16 to 20 March 2026, a diverse programme will be offered that addresses the various aspects of sustainability.

The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW is once again participating in the Sustainability Week Switzerland in 2026. From 16 to 20 March 2026, FHNW will offer both internal and external interested parties at its campuses in Brugg-Windisch, Muttenz, Basel, Olten, and Solothurn a varied programme that highlights the numerous facets of sustainability - from environmental and climate protection to social responsibility and sustainable innovation. Some of the offerings specifically focus on the future field of Zero Emission.

Workshops, expert lectures, exhibitions, idea workshops, and interactive formats will show how sustainable actions can be concretely designed - both within the university and in private life and professional everyday life. A special example of creative sustainability approaches is presented by two FHNW students at the School of Business in Basel: They demonstrate how elephant dung can be used as an environmentally friendly material for 3D printing. As part of the "Campus Dialogue - Zero Emission in Practice" at the FHNW Campus Muttenz, experts from Saleon AG, Power Blox AG, and FHNW will discuss the opportunities and challenges of innovative battery technologies - and how sustainable energy storage can shape the energy future in the long term.

The FHNW is also making culinary contributions: In the Tavola Verde project at the Brugg-Windisch campus, participants prepare a sustainable lunch together with experts and discuss the nutrition of the future. Additionally, the public university colloquium of the University of Applied Psychology FHNW will focus on social issues surrounding urban development, participation, and emotions in planning processes.

Another highlight of the week is the awarding of the Sustainability Prize from the Academy of Art and Design Basel FHNW, where outstanding student projects are recognised. At the concert "Air" by reMuse at the Academy of Music Basel FHNW, music enthusiasts will be able to enjoy a unique performance.

FHNW warmly invites all interested parties to participate in the Sustainability Week 2026 and actively engage in the discourse.
