05.11.2026, Bern () - Valiant increases group profit by 5.4 percent after the third quarter of 2026. Both business success and business income develop positively compared to the previous year. Valiant also grows in customer loans and deposits.

After the third quarter, Valiant declares a group profit of 114.2 million francs. This corresponds to an increase of 5.4 percent compared to the previous year. Business success records an increase of 0.2 percent to 171.2 million francs. The purple bank increases its business income by 1.0 percent to 415.2 million francs.

"Valiant can continue its growth path. Especially in a challenging environment, the consistent implementation of our strategy 'Valiant 2029' is central. We aim to continue simplifying the financial life of our clients, expanding revenue diversification and closely monitoring cost management. The result after nine months gives me confidence in achieving our goals by the end of the year," says Valiant CEO Ewald Burgener.

Growth in Loans and Deposits

Valiant increases customer loans by 2.5 percent or 754.6 million francs in the first nine months. These amount to a total of 31.1 billion francs. Valiant also grows in customer deposits: with an increase of 2.4 percent and 540.0 million francs, these now amount to 23.3 billion francs.

Solid Interest Business in a Zero Interest Environment

The interest business results in a gross profit of 300.4 million francs (-1.7 percent). The net interest profit amounts to 292.7 million francs and records a decrease of 1.3 percent. The interest business continues to develop at a high level with a good interest margin of 104 basis points. The slightly declining development is due to the zero interest environment and the loss of earnings from hedging transactions.

Strong Commission and Service Business

The success from the commission and service business records a pleasing increase of 10.2 percent compared to the previous year and amounts to 79.3 million francs. The commission income in the securities and investment business makes the largest contribution with an increase of 16.3 percent. This change is primarily attributed to increased custody assets due to new money inflows and positive developments in the financial markets.

Success from Trading Business and Other Ordinary Success

The trading business results in a success of 29.2 million francs (-5.6 percent). Other ordinary success increases by 20.6 percent to 13.8 million francs. This increase is mainly due to higher income from participations.

Business Expenses

Business expenses record an increase of 1.8 percent to 228.7 million francs. This is due to investments in digitisation and employer attractiveness. As part of its program to increase operational efficiency, Valiant continues to pursue consistent cost management.

Strengthening Reserves for General Bank Risks

Due to the positive development in the first nine months, 25.0 million francs could be allocated to the reserves for general bank risks. This strengthens Valiant's equity. The total capital ratio of 17.0 percent is significantly above regulatory requirements and at the upper end of the internally defined range of 15 to 17 percent. Already in February 2026, Valiant informed about the share buyback program. By September 30, 2026, 57,080 shares worth 9.0 million francs were bought back. The purple bank has thus initiated measures to bring the total capital ratio back into the defined target range.

Bank Packages for Businesses

Since summer 2026, Valiant has been offering new Business Sets. These are not only simpler and more attractive but also more tailored to the needs of SMEs and the self-employed. For instance, the Basic Business Set is free, while more comprehensive services are included in the Plus or Premium Business Sets. With its comprehensive service offering for SMEs, Valiant supports entrepreneurs in their daily work.

Offers for Youths and Young Adults

Especially in the zero interest environment, Valiant makes it easier for young people to start investing. Valiant waives custody fees for all clients up to the age of 28 both in fund investments and execution-only securities custody accounts. With the Lila Set Young - the free banking package - young people benefit from a free debit Mastercard®, free cash withdrawals worldwide, and purchases abroad and in foreign online shops without additional fees. Additionally, more Young Plus accounts, savings accounts, and Young Plus provident accounts can be added on request. With every opening of a Lila Set Young, there is a super voucher worth 50 francs with the promo code 'LILA.' The promotion is valid until December 31, 2026.

Outlook

For the current year, Valiant expects a slightly higher group profit.
