Yet, at the crucial moment - in a meeting, during a client conversation, or in a spontaneous exchange - speaking comes to a halt. The Zurich-based XLingua AG refers to this gap between understanding and spontaneous application as the 'Speaking Gap'.
With the launch of their online academy, XLINGUA presents a model that addresses this very issue. The XLINGUA Flow(TM) model focuses consistently on active speaking under real conditions rather than purely theoretical learning.
'In Switzerland, it is not enough to understand a language. What matters is the ability to speak clearly and spontaneously under pressure,' says Eveline Rosa, founder of XLingua AG. 'Our goal is not perfect grammar, but communicative freedom of action.'
From Knowledge to Performance
While classical language courses often precede with long theory phases, XLINGUA emphasizes active application from the start. In small groups of three to six people or in individual lessons, learners train for real conversation situations from professional and everyday contexts.
Immediate feedback, targeted corrections at the moment of speaking, and a structured fault culture are intended to help build language flow and reduce inhibitions. The focus is not on linguistic perfection, but on communicative confidence.
Digital Platform with a Clear Learning Path
The new online academy combines teacher-led live sessions with an integrated digital learning environment. A transparent learning path and visible progress are designed to embed regular speaking in everyday life.
The offering is aimed at adult learners, expats, and professionals. Language programs are offered in German, Swiss German, English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
