02.01.2026, Emil came into the world on January 1, 2026, at 1:32 AM. He is 50 centimetres tall and weighs 3,125 grams.

Emil is in excellent company: With 2,169 births in 2025, Zollikerberg Hospital asserts its position as one of the most popular maternity clinics in Switzerland. For the tenth consecutive year, over 2,000 babies were born in a single year.

"We are very pleased that so many expectant parents entrust us with this life-changing moment. Best wishes to Emil and his family," says Pia Schnitzler, Head of the Women's Clinic.

Already in autumn 2023, the obstetric services on the hospital grounds were expanded with the opening of the Zollikerberg Birth House. With this, the hospital responds to the growing demand by many families for midwife-led births. The labour department with two integrated operating rooms is located directly next to the neonatal unit (neonatology). This proximity allows for short distances in emergencies and can be crucial for the safety of mother and child. Around the clock, midwives and specialist doctors in obstetrics, neonatology, and anaesthesiology are available.
