Burglaries have significantly increased in Switzerland in recent years. According to the latest police crime statistics data, over 46,000 cases were recorded in 2025, equivalent to around 128 burglaries per day. After a decline during the pandemic, the trend is rising again, confirming a return to a high level.
Beyond the numbers, burglaries follow relatively consistent patterns. Perpetrators mainly target temporarily unoccupied homes and act at well-identified times, particularly in the late afternoon or evening. Despite this knowledge, less than one in five cases is solved, underscoring the importance of preventive measures.
Recurring Situations
Based on the observed incidents, certain situations occur particularly frequently. Longer absences, especially during holidays or weekends, are a decisive factor. Likewise, homes left empty during the day due to work-related absences face increased risk. Additionally, easily accessible properties, particularly on the ground floor or with poorly visible entrances, are more often targeted. These situations are not exceptional but rather reflect the everyday life of many households.
Prevention as Central Lever
Against this backdrop, prevention remains the most effective measure. Simple solutions can significantly reduce the risk, especially by making homes less predictable or less accessible. Alarm systems have a recognized deterrent effect: in the vast majority of cases, their activation leads to the immediate cessation of the burglary attempt. TCS pursues this approach with solutions tailored to different needs – whether for permanent home protection or just during absences.
New: a Flexible Solution for Modern Lifestyles
TCS Home Security, launched in 2025, takes it a step further by offering a modular solution that adapts to today's lifestyles. The new system can be activated only when needed, such as during holidays or longer absences, or operated continuously with 24/7 monitoring.
Available in the form of kits for apartments and houses and combined with professional interventions in case of an alarm, the system offers a simple and flexible response to everyday security needs.
