28.04.2026, Hospital Zollikerberg concludes the year 2025 with a profit of CHF 4.9m (2024: CHF -1.2m) and an EBITDAR margin of 11.2 percent (2024: 7.1 percent). This result is attributed to higher revenues as well as the implemented measures to improve process and collaboration efficiency, and cost reduction. Operating income increased by CHF 1.7m compared to the previous year, reaching CHF 187.7m (2024: CHF 186.0m).

Revenues developed positively overall, but differences are evident among the various sectors. While earnings from generally insured patients rose by CHF 1.7m to CHF 79.6m (2024: CHF 77.9m), those from privately insured patients decreased by CHF 0.9m to CHF 56.2m (2024: CHF 57.1m). In the outpatient sector, revenues remained at the previous year's level of CHF 43.5m (2024: CHF 43.6m).

Cost reductions exceeding CHF 5m

Operating expenses decreased significantly during the reporting year. Personnel expenses dropped by CHF 1.9m to CHF 118.1m (2024: CHF 120.0m). Material expenses also saw a clear reduction, falling by CHF 3.3m to CHF 51.5m (2024: CHF 54.8m). Savings were mainly achieved in medical supplies, administrative expenses, and other operating expense categories.

Birth rates remain high - Significant increase in the birth centre

In 2025, a total of 2,155 children were born at Hospital Zollikerberg (2024: 2,189). Thus, the number of births remains at a high level. For the tenth year in a row, the hospital recorded over 2,000 births annually. The birth centre was particularly dynamic, with the number of births increasing from 92 in 2024 to 125 in the reporting year. The combination of a modern maternity clinic and birth centre at the same location significantly contributes to Hospital Zollikerberg being among the most sought-after birthing places in Switzerland.

Positive development in gynaecology

Gynaecology reported a significant increase with 613 cases, up 5.9 percent compared to the previous year (579 cases). This highlights the high professional competence of the medical staff and the successful interdisciplinary collaboration within the hospital.

High patient satisfaction remains stable

Inpatient satisfaction with their treatment and stay was 5.7 (maximum score: 6.0). After a consistent value of 5.6 from 2021 to 2023, it increased in 2024. In 2025, this high level was confirmed again.
