Migros has always stood for a fair, responsible, and sustainable wage policy. In close and constructive collaboration with its social partners, the Migros Group's National Commission (LAKO), the Swiss Commercial Association, and the Swiss Butchers' Personnel Association, it has decided on a wage increase ranging from 0.3% to 0.4%. Constructive and cooperative discussions have led to a fair and forward-looking consensus.
Social Responsibility of Migros
Simone Sofia, President of LAKO: "The wage adjustment demonstrates that we prioritize the needs of our employees during challenging times for Migros while also considering economic realities." Andrea Krapf, Head of the HRM and Engagement Department of Migros Group and a member of the MGB Executive Board, adds: "Migros stands for fairness and appreciation – this is evident not only in this year's wage adjustment but also in the positive real wage development of recent years. Additionally, Migros offers above-average social benefits."
Migros offers one of the best pension plans in Switzerland with above-average interest on pension savings (currently 7.5%), generous family benefits such as four weeks of paternity leave, child allowances exceeding legal requirements, and flexible working models that promote work-life balance. Moreover, there are diverse training opportunities, attractive employee offers, loyalty bonuses, additional Cumulus points, and comprehensive health and preventive services.
A Strong Signal in Challenging Times
The wage increase of 0.3% to 0.4% is significantly above the expected inflation of 0.2% for 2025. This marks the fourth consecutive year where Migros Group employees benefit from a real wage increase, thus strengthening their purchasing power, which is especially valuable in times of rising living costs. Thus, Migros sends a clear signal of appreciation and reliability to its employees.
Implementation at Regional Level
Within the nationally agreed wage range, specific wage increases will now be determined jointly in the individual companies with the respective local personnel commissions (PEKO). The focus is on recognizing individual performances. These adjustments apply to all companies subject to the National Collective Agreement (L-GAV).
A Special Thanks in the Jubilee Year
In 2025, Migros celebrates its 100th anniversary, a significant milestone celebrated together with customers, partners, the entire Swiss community, and especially with its employees.
To conclude this jubilee year, Migros thanks all employees with a token of appreciation in the form of a Migros gift card. The card's value depends on the employment percentage. Employees with an employment rate of 50% or more receive a card worth 300 francs. In total, Migros allocates around 20 million francs for this and says "merci" for the tremendous effort employees contribute to Migros every day.
