From January to March 2026, Opel Switzerland recorded a nearly 25 percent increase in sales in the combined passenger car and LCV business compared to the same period last year. The market share rose from 1.5 to 1.9 percent over the same period. The passenger car business developed particularly dynamically, with new registrations increasing by 42.3 percent from the previous year, and the market share rising significantly from 1.3 to 1.8 percent.
This growth is driven, among other factors, by a strong and completely modernised model portfolio that meets high demand from Swiss customers. The small car icon Corsa is a clear bestseller: with 429 new registrations in the first quarter, it is by far the best-selling Opel model in Switzerland.
The new Opel Frontera is also developing positively. The model is proceeding according to plan and already achieved 189 new registrations in the first quarter - a clear sign of the potential of the new and family-friendly SUV at an unbeatable price. The positive development in the first quarter highlights the attractiveness of the current Opel portfolio and the competitiveness of the brand in the Swiss market. Opel Switzerland sees itself on a stable growth path and well-positioned for the further course of 2026.
