Effective immediately, Prof. Nora Dainton assumes the role of head of the Institute of Digital Construction at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geomatics FHNW. For the past year, Dainton has served as the interim head and a committed member of the university's management. During this time, she has laid a solid foundation for the further development of the institute and its offerings, which include both a training and a continuing education master's program along with an extensive research portfolio highly relevant to practical fields, such as collaboration, process design, and construction information management.
An experienced and visionary practitioner with strong networking skills, Prof. Nora Dainton brings over 15 years of experience within the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW and the Swiss higher education landscape. She has been actively involved in various roles at the Institute of Digital Construction for more than five years. In 2020, she co-developed the MSc FHNW in Virtual Design and Construction and has since played a crucial role in shaping the institute as a program director and member of the institute's leadership team.
Prior to her involvement with the Institute of Digital Construction, the trained industrial designer worked as a lecturer and in quality management at the University of Design and Art FHNW and implemented projects in process design and design in her own company. She has also supported companies in developing educational and learning concepts.

Institute of Digital Construction: The Institute pushes the digital transformation of the construction and real estate industry. It focuses on new organizational forms, processes, and tools to manage increasing project complexity. Based on the Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) framework, the institute promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, the use of digital building models, and the development of practical methods and tools for project and information management in the construction industry.
